Looking up to the mountains reminded me of Psalm 121:
I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you—
The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm—
The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
This is a song of praise we can sing to God as we journey through life.... making our way toward our home in Heaven. We face many dangers in our life. God sometimes chooses other paths for us to take, sometimes surprising us because it's different than what we imagined. This song is a reminder that when trouble comes or things don't go our way, that we cannot look to the mountain for protection but there is only ONE who we can turn to and trust.... God.
Even if God had chosen a different path for me and family, he has shown us that he's faithful, never changing, our protector. He knows what's best. I praise God for his faithfulness today!
