Sometimes...

I awoke in the night with a sudden fear that left me in a cold sweat.  Several situations grasped my mind... As I mentally went over the list, I decided God wanted me to pray.  All of the situations were beyond my control.  It was impossible for me to help in any way.  As I lay there, looking into the dark, I wanted to cry out to the Lord that these issues were of utmost importance and could He do something right away.... tonight... perform a miracle.  You've probably been there.  You don't want to wait another day.  You could sleep so much better if you knew the outcome... or would you?

Sometimes...  God answers right away, but more often, we have to wait and trust.  We have to let go of the fear and believe that God loves us enough to do what is best.  Sometimes... it takes longer than we want it to, but God is always there and He is always aware.  He knows our anxious thoughts and prayers.  Sometimes... all we need to know... is that He is with us...

Psalms  33: 20-22

"We wait in hope for the Lord;

     He is our help and our shield.

   In Him our hearts rejoice,

     for we trust in His holy name.

   May Your unfailing love rest upon us,

     O Lord, 

    even as we put our hope in You.

Psalms 40: 1

"I waited patiently for the Lord;

   He turned to me and heard my cry.

Philippians 3:6-7

"Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything, by

  prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your 

  requests to God.  And the peace of God, which transcends

  all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds

  in Christ Jesus.
