I am the good shepherd;
I know my sheep and my sheep know me -
just as the Father knows me and I know the Father -
and I lay down my life for the sheep. John 10:14
Jesus, my Shepherd, I want to know you like this. Here you make it sound like this is the obvious normal way to know you - You knowing us and our knowing you like you and the Father know each other - an intimacy of knowing that comes from being one with you.
My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me.
I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish;
no one can snatch them out of my hand.
My Father, who has given them to me is greater than all;
no one can snatch them out of my Father's hand.
I and the Father are one. John 10:27-30
To know you and follow you - that's my desire. You lay down your life so I can have eternal life and never really die. You keep me. Forever. I am safe in your hand and the Father's hand. Nothing can nor will ever seperate me from the security of your love!
