The last year has been an amazing journey of trusting in God's faithfulness and seeing his provisions in my life.... such blessings I have experienced! I was driving home today from dropping the kids off at school and looked up to beautiful Mt. Baker, basked in sunlight and covered in snow. What a beautiful sight. Aren't we fortunate to wake up each morning and enjoy such creation! While I looked at that beauty I reflected on my journey.... each time our prayers were answered.... would I have been as content on this journey if God had chosen to answer them differently or if his answers had taken us on a different path?

Looking up to the mountains reminded me of Psalm 121:

I lift up my eyes to the hills—
where does my help come from?
My help comes from the LORD,
the Maker of heaven and earth.
He will not let your foot slip—
he who watches over you will not slumber;
indeed, he who watches over Israel
will neither slumber nor sleep.
The LORD watches over you—
the LORD is your shade at your right hand;
the sun will not harm you by day,
nor the moon by night.
The LORD will keep you from all harm—
he will watch over your life;
the LORD will watch over your coming and going
both now and forevermore.
This is a song of praise we can sing to God as we journey through life.... making our way toward our home in Heaven. We face many dangers in our life. God sometimes chooses other paths for us to take, sometimes surprising us because it's different than what we imagined. This song is a reminder that when trouble comes or things don't go our way, that we cannot look to the mountain for protection but there is only ONE who we can turn to and trust.... God.
Even if God had chosen a different path for me and family, he has shown us that he's faithful, never changing, our protector. He knows what's best. I praise God for his faithfulness today!
